Saluting the Spirit of Freedom: A Grand Independence Day Celebration
With immense pride and patriotic fervour, D.A.V. Public School, Nerul celebrated the 79th Independence Day of our nation on 15th August 2025. The campus was adorned with the colours of the tricolour and the atmosphere resonated with enthusiasm and national spirit as students and staff gathered to honour this historic occasion.
The celebrations began with a patriotic introduction, followed by the ceremonial flag hoisting and the singing of the National Anthem. The march past by Class X students showcased precision, discipline and unity, while a spirited drill by Class VII students added energy and vibrancy to the morning’s proceedings.
Students delivered inspiring messages in Hindi, English and Marathi, highlighting the sacrifices of freedom fighters, the responsibilities of citizens and the importance of preserving cultural roots. A melodious patriotic song by Class V students stirred feelings of pride and togetherness. The thematic presentation ‘Navras: Azaadi ke Rang’ by Class IX students creatively portrayed nine emotions associated with the journey of independence.
In her address, Ms. Mukta Baurai urged students to uphold the values of integrity, discipline and service to the nation, reminding them that true freedom lies in selfless action and responsibility.
The celebration concluded with a spectacular musical where Class V students brought freedom fighters to life through powerful slogans and spirited performances. The enactment featured iconic leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Veer Savarkar, Jyotiba Phule, Rani Laxmibai, Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Subhas Chandra Bose, vividly depicting the struggles and triumphs of India’s freedom movement. This vibrant finale left the audience deeply moved and filled with pride.
