Joy of Giving Week at D.A.V. Public School, Nerul, brought the true spirit of Diwali alive — sharing, caring, and lighting lives with kindness. Celebrated from 2nd to 8th October 2025 under the guidance of Ms. Mukta Baurai, the week-long initiative encouraged students from Nursery to Std. XII to experience the joy of giving and understand the deeper meaning of Diwali — spreading light not only through lamps but through acts of kindness and compassion.

During the week, students contributed essential items such as biscuits, dry fruits, rice, tea, coffee, clothes and bedsheets according to their class schedules. Students of Classes VI to IX showcased their creativity in a special exhibition, preparing and decorating items with the guidance of Art teachers, including candles, Torans, envelopes and painted diyas. These activities not only made the preparations enjoyable but also helped students understand how small, heartfelt acts can bring happiness and meaning to others.

The collected items were personally distributed to Vatsalya Trust Sanpada, Second Inning Senior Care Home Nerul, Children of the World Nerul and Swagatam Ashram CBD Belapur. Students, teachers and staff visited these centers to ensure the contributions brought joy, comfort and support to the children and senior citizens. The initiative truly reflected Mahatma Gandhi’s words, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others,” fostering generosity, empathy and a deep sense of community spirit among all participants.
