With immense pride and joy, D.A.V. Public School, Nerul hosted its Citation and Investiture Ceremony on Saturday, 26th July, 2025 celebrating academic brilliance, student leadership and a commitment to environmental responsibility. The ceremony began with a vibrant Welcome Dance and a patriotic song dedicated to Kargil Vijay Diwas, honouring the courage and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes. In her inspiring address, Ms. Mukta Baurai, the School Head, emphasised the importance of consistent effort in achieving academic excellence. She highlighted that learners who embrace hard work and discipline often emerge as top scorers. She also encouraged the spirit of eco-conscious living and reflected on the deep influence of parental habits—reminding everyone that when adults choose to read, children naturally follow, developing habits that shape lifelong learners. This message was aptly tied to the introduction of the Parents’ Reader Award, a new initiative to acknowledge parents who promote reading at home. The Citation Ceremony honoured meritorious students from Classes VI to XI for their outstanding academic performance. Each achiever was presented with a Trophy and a Tie, symbols of their dedication, focus and pursuit of excellence. Special recognition was given to Class X students who secured 95% and above in the 2024–25 CBSE Board Examination. Adding a personal and heartfelt dimension to the programme, the Head Girl delivered a graceful speech, reflecting on her journey and the values instilled by the school. The Readers’ Awards celebrated students from Classes III to XI who demonstrated a genuine love for books and reading. The inclusion of the Parents’ Reader Award was a meaningful step in recognising the collaborative role families play in nurturing intellectual curiosity and a reading culture. An impactful segment of the event was the felicitation of Earth Day Warriors, who completed the 30-Day Earth Challenge from 23rd March to 22nd April. These students undertook eco-friendly practices such as composting, plastic reduction, water and energy conservation, and creative reuse of materials. Their journey was shared through a presentation and a poem, leaving a lasting message about sustainability and conscious living.
