Annual Sports Day: Champions in Action

The Annual Sports Day of DAV Public School was held on 18th January 2025, concluding a series of sporting events that began in November. Students from Nursery to Class 12 participated enthusiastically, showcasing their athletic abilities and team spirit. The event commenced with the welcome of the Chief Guest, Mr. Shubham Dhananjay Vanmali, an International Open Water Swimmer and recipient of the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award and Shiv Chhatrapati Award. He was greeted with drum beats and a vibrant lazium performance by the students of Class 5, setting an energetic tone for the day. The ceremony began with the flag hoisting, followed by the March Past by Class 9 students, representing the four different houses. Their synchronized movements showcased precision, discipline, unity, and the school’s values of teamwork and dedication.

Ms. Mukta Baurai delivered the welcome address and presented a detailed report of the sports activities. She highlighted events such as the 100-meter race, relay races, shot put, cricket, throwball, and football. The students of Classes 6 and 7 performed a well-coordinated dance drill, impressing the audience with their precision, energy and teamwork through rhythmic movements and synchronized formations. The relay races for Classes 8 to 10 were among the key highlights, where boys and girls displayed exceptional teamwork and determination. A proud moment was the felicitation of DAV National Sports winners, recognized for their outstanding achievements. Trophies were awarded to winners and runners-up of all team events, acknowledging their efforts and competitive spirit. The day concluded with an awards ceremony celebrating the participants' triumphs and perseverance. It was a memorable occasion that highlighted discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork, leaving everyone inspired and excited for the next year’s festivities.
