‘Healthy Snack Making Competition’
D.A.V. Public School, Nerul organised a ‘ Healthy Snack Making Competition’ on 01.07.2019 to create awareness about the benefits of healthy and nutritious food habits among the students and to develop in them an interest in culinary art. The competition also aimed to create an awareness about saving fuel and thus the dishes were not prepared in the traditional way. The students of the Senior Secondary Section took part in the competition enthusiastically. Nearly 30 young master chefs set to work and impressed the judges by whipping up an array of beautifully presented healthy nutritious dishes which ranged from the unusual Maharashtrian ‘dadpe pohe’ to the exotic Vietnamese roll. The all time favourites like corn chaat, healthy smoothies, fruit salads and desserts were also a part of the delicious spread. The participants were also asked to prepare the recipes for the dishes that they had entered in the competition. The esteemed panel of judges, after meticulous consideration, declared the winners and praised them for their imagination and creativity.
The competition was an enjoyable deviation from the academic curriculum and was appreciated by all.
