On October 30, 2015, an event, “LEARN TO EARN”, was organized by XI Commerce students of D.A.V. Public School, Nerul.

The main objective of this event was to make students understand the importance of money, finance management, developing necessary skills and knowledge needed to plan and manage an enterprise, calculation of profit and loss, marketing strategies, appreciating and respecting the effort put into generating income. The class was divided into seven groups. The students were asked to market and sell their products which included different types of food items, game stalls and selling quilling jhumkas. The timing of the event was 10:00AM to 12: 30 PM. As the doors of the hall opened, parents, teachers, students flooded in.  Great excitement and hurried activities were seen around. The food stalls were allotted numbers. The first food stall offered a variety of delicious sandwiches. The second food stall had arranged a wide array of interesting games which added to the fun and excitement of visitors. They also offered mouth watering delicacies like pizzas, paneer tikkas, chocolate toast and soft drinks. Amidst all the rich, heavy and spicy food, stall no.3 considered offering food items which were not only lip smacking, but also high on the health and nutritional value. They offered corn salads, lemonade, Monaco bites and coke float which were sold out like hot cakes. Who doesn’t like a fusion of different tastes in a plate? Members of stall no.4 ensured that they offer one. The menu they presented consisted of BBQ Manchurian tikkis, soft drinks and combo deals. The fifth stall satisfied the sugar cravings of visitors, by offering handmade chocolates, gooey chocolate muffins and also kept the customers entertained by arranging a game, “Paper Challenge”. Variety of South Indian dishes like appam, uttapam were offered by stall no.6. Along with food, they displayed their creativity by selling paper earrings of different shapes, sizes and colors. Last but not the least, delicious Chinese food was offered by stall no. 7 like fried rice, Hakka noodles and Manchurian gravy with combo deals. Thus, it ended on a happy and satisfactory note when participants showed eagerness in becoming Future Entrepreneurs.
