Report on Communal Harmony Flag Day

To foster and reinforce the spirit of communal Harmony, National Integration and pride is our vibrant,composite culture and nationhood, DAV Public School, Nerul observed National Integration week from 19^th November to 25^th November 2017, activities like poster making and speeches were conducted to reaffirm the values of tolerance, co-existence and brotherhood.

The Institution observed Communal Harmony Flag Day in all earnestness on 25^th November 2017. A special assembly was held to mark the occasion. The assembly started with prayers to the Almighty. It was followed by ‘Thought of the Day’ which was taken from the Rig Veda which gave the message that the key to peace and universal brotherhood lies in unity of thought, mind and action. Believing that all religion preach the same tenet of tolerance, peace, harmony and universal brotherhood the students read from the holy scriptures of The Gita, The Bible, The Guru Granth Sahib and The Quran which conveyed the same message. Speeches were delivered by students on ‘The Importance of Communal Harmony’ and ‘Growing Need for Awareness and Action to conserve the Environment.’ This was followed by a group song on the theme of secularism and communal harmony. The Head boy of the institution then led the school in taking the pledge promising to preserve and strengthen the freedom and integrity of the nation. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
